Philipine Update - Saturday

Saturday was a "light" day for us, by Philipine standards. We split into groups and went soul-winning in the morning. Many of us went to visit the squatters. These, again, are the poorest of the poor. Our American kids who complain about sharing a room with a brother or sister should praise God for what they have been given. I saw a 3-4 month old baby swinging from a hammock. The roof of the house was no more than 4 foot high. Nesting underneath the baby was the family chicken with her chicks, no more than inches below the child. We could offer nothing but the Gospel. Praise God that it is enough! We saw many more saved.

After soulwinning, we attended the Frontliners prep class. Frontliners are the people who serve in the ministry on Sunday. Brother Plum brought a challenging message to this group of 300 - 400 people. We were dismissed for some free time, before dinner. After dinner, more free time. However, it was striking that as we walked around the grounds on Saturday evening, hundreds of Frontliners were STILL THERE! They showed up at 8:00 am on Saturday morning, and did not leave the church until after 10:00pm.

We haven't seen Katie Hoffman for four days. I'm sure she'll be fine. We'll go looking for her in a few days.

More to follow.
Chris.
