Coming Home

Tomorrow morning we will fly out of Manila at 8:05 am on Northwest Airlines Flight
20. Please pray for us as we go. I hate to share this with all of the parents, but not a one of the young people want to go home. It was pretty tough for all of them to say their goodbyes tonight.
On the other hand, the adults are more than eager to be reunited with their spouses and children. This has been a phenomenal trip. Stay tuned, as we will be posting more about the trip in the next few days.

Unique Disciplinary Measures

Here at the Baptist Heritage Bible College, they have implemented some unique disciplinary measures. When a young man displays irresponsibility he is either spanked or told to wear a motorcycle helmet for the whole day. This young man was disciplined on Tuesday. He was wearing a helmet around. We found it hilarious and so we took this picture with him. He served his time and was seen on Wednesday helmet-free.

Extreme Makeover: George Hugh Edition

George Greene came to the Philippines a beaten man. His trip has revived his self-image. He is a man among the rest of our boys. He has completely re-invented himself. See for yourself!

Monday Night

On Monday night we had another unique opportunity. The Christian Bible Baptist Church has a Bible Study each Monday and Tuesday night with the Police Training Academy. These young men and women are training to be part of the Philippine National Police. There were approximately 700 young men and women that I had a chance to preach to. There were a number of professions of faith. It was an exciting time. The group picture was taken with the Colonel of the Philippine National Police. He is standing between Brother Chris and me.

Unique preaching opportunities

As Brother Chris noted, we were given some unique preaching opportunities on Monday morning here in the Philippines. I was able to address all of the workers for the city government in their town square before they headed to work for the week. Following that, Brother Jon and Brother Chris were able to preach in the city jail. There were 59 inmates in one cell. You could not possibly even begin to imagine the horrid conditions in which these inmates live. It made me think of what the Apostle Paul might have endured during his numerous imprisonments. We visited 2 other jails this morning with the young men able to visit them with us. In all we saw 500 professions of faith in these prisons. It was quite a morning.

Eating Balut

As Brother Chris already mentioned, some from our group on Sunday night ate Balut in front of the whole church. The church was thrilled with those who did it and disappointed in those who did not. Here are the pictures from the Balut-eating party in the main auditorium.
